Have any of y’all ever tried the swivel and lock stirrup system?
I just got a new saddle and the leather is pretty stiff so it makes it hard to get your foot into the stirrup since it’s not already bent that way. I was thinking about getting this swivel and lock stirrup system from chick saddlery http://www.chicksaddlery.com/page/CDS/PROD/1087/SL4000
I was just wondering if any of y’all have tried these and if they work and hold up well.
Wet down the stirrup leather and twist the stirrups into position and put a board or broom handle through the stirrups to hold them in place. Let it sit like that until it dries and the stirrups will be twisted the right way.
The swivel things work, but I have found them to be a bigger pain in the butt than a help. Twisting the stirrup leathers works better and will cause less people to snicker when they see you mount up.
