What are the pros and cons of the Motorola Rival?
I want to buy a motorola rival in a few months. It is the only phone telus has that I like the look of. Is it a good phone. Any info on it is appreciated. What do you like and not like about this phone?
ok well um lets see it is NOT a very good phone in my point of view in fact i have had mine for 3 months and the screen just tore off i didnt really treat it horribly and the phone messes up pretty bad all of the time =( now i know it wasnt just a bad one out of the bunch because my friend had one and it has done the exact same thing i would recommend something else
sorry for the negative comments though have a wonderful day but now my cell is in half lol i have to admit it is pretty funny

Both are slated to cater to different segments and have huge price difference to really see a clash of interest and sales. Nokia and Samsung are the top two manufacturers of mobile phones in the world and jointly they have a share of more than 50% in the global phone market. Nokia has always dominated the scene with greater world presence but Samsung have come up rapidly with increasing sales and surpassing many competitive companies like Motorola and LG to turn up at the second spot. Both have come out with many successful phones that not only look great in design and style but also perform as top class devices. The Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 is a latest addition to Samsung’s Omnia line of phones and comes as a smart-phone with a large 3.5 inches AMOLED resistive touchscreen. Freshly released in the market in September, it has a built-in accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and utilises advanced R touchscreen display. Compared to this the Nokia 5710 XpressMusic comes as a versatile music player which is still to be officially announced and released in the market. Unlike the Samsung B7610, it is not a smartphone and only comes with a colour display of 16M colours.
It is supposed to be an upgraded version of the Nokia 5700 with a better camera and more expandable memory. Both the devices are quad-band devices with capability for 3G service support. The B6710 is definitely bulkier with a weight of 159 grams but comes in a sleeker design. It also has an internal storage of 1GB expandable up to 32GB while that in the Nokia 5710 is 38MB expandable up to 8GB. The Nokia phone comes with Class32 GPRS and EDGE while those available in the B6710 are of Class10 capability. Nonetheless the B6710 ensures better speed in downloading data at higher HSDPA rate and also allows to access any loacal area network via the built-in Wi-Fi. Whereas it’s a Windows Mobile 6.1 device running on a powerful 800 MHz Samsung processor with dedicated graphics accelerator, the 5710 is a Symbian S60 model that runs on a 369MHz processor from ARM. The Omnia Pro definitely comes with a better camera as compared to the Nokia 5710. This one has a 5 mega pixel camera that comes along with auto-focus feature and an LED flash. Additionally there are also smart features like face and smile detection, wide dynamic range, image stabilization and panorama shot along with video recording capability @30fps in VGA mode. On the other hand the Nokia 5710 is equipped with a 3.2 mega pixel unit with auto-focus feature and LED flash. Video recording is available in the QVGA mode along with video-calling capability.
Both the devices are equipped with a Bluetooth and USB that offer convenient data sharing solutions between compatible devices. Some other features that are commonly available in both the devices include stereo FM radio, email, IM, Voice memo/dial and versatile media players that are capable of playing most of the prevalent file formats. The Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 comes with a powerful 1500 mAh standard battery that gives a talk time of more than 6 hours in 3G service. The battery in the Nokia 5700 is only a 900mAh unit that supports a talk time of only about 2 ½ hours. These two devices certainly have a lot of differences with the Omnia Pro faring better with more features. But all these come with a price that is almost double that of the Nokia 5710 XpressMusic. This XpressMusic model is capable of doing really well in it’s segment and price range as the Omnia Pro gears up to give a fight in the high-end segment of touch-phones.
